The Perfect Combination of Strength and Beauty
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What are Xccent SteelDeck⢠Marina panels made of?
SteelDeck starts with an incredibly strong 13-gauge steel core. The steel panels are completely encased in a vinyl coating and engineered to provide protection, beauty, safety and comfort that is not possible with other materials.
How long with the SteelDeck⢠Marina panels last?
SteelDeck is engineered to last 25 to 50 years with limited, if any, on-going maintenance. Ultraviolet inhibitors are added to the coating for true color stay. Also, the PVC coating can be repaired on site with a patch kit should the coating be scraped off accidentally. Your investment in SteelDeck is protected by a 25-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
What are modular panels and how do they perform with water pooling? With traditional decking and composites, an individual deck plank is the standard material. The usual installation procedure is to cut and fasten each individual deck board. Xccent's SteelDeck is a panel made with a series of planks, formed into a modular piece. Pieces range in sizes from one square foot up to 16 square feet. The panels are perforated so water drains easily from the surface. The perforations also allow splash through from under the deck to minimize lift pressure from storms and turbulent water conditions.
How fast is installation? Installation is very fast! Because a SteelDeck Marina project requires very little or no cutting, and the modular panels fasten to your floats or framing with 75% fewer fasteners than required for traditional decking.
How do the Marina Panels comply with regulations/use needs? There are a variety of different regulations that Marinas need to comply with based on geographic location. In areas where environmental regulations require light to reach the area under a dock, the perforated panels with provide good light penetrations. In cold climates, the perforations will allow ice to melt and drain more quickly than on a solid float panel. The Marina panels also pass regulations set out by the Clean Marina Act.
